In creative writing today we were given a prompt; the monster ate it. We were supposed to write about the prompt in any way we want to. I chose to write the prompt in the form of a REALLY short story type of way:
James, a seventeen year old is home alone babysitting his five year old brother Max. The time is around six in the evening, and because it is winter in Minnesota, it is beginning to get dark. Max is getting hungry but is too little to make his own dinner. So he runs up stairs to get his older brother. Holding his stomach, Max asks, “James can I have something to eat?”
James in the middle of playing video games replies, “Yea let me just get this kill…headshot! Now let’s go get you something to eat! What do you want?”
“Can I have macaroni and cheese?”
“Yea you can, one macaroni and cheese coming right up.” Max jumps up in is chair and James makes him his famous macaroni. James puts the macaroni in a bowl and sets it in front of Max. He forgot to get Max some milk. He turns around and grabs the milk out of the fridge. When he turns back around, the macaroni is all gone, the bowl that he had given Max was empty, and so were the leftovers in the bowl; it had all been licked clean. When he asked Max, “where’d all the macaroni go?”
Max replied, “The monster ate it.”
